This is a scene that I would normally pass by and not give it a chance to become a painting. That is mostly because I am unable to find a composition in all of the chaos that a forest can project. This is the painting that made me look at the chaos in a different way. The tree is the main focus, but the elements that surround it are what really make it dance. The lower half has a gradation where the cold shadowed leaves rise up in a subtle zig zag behind the tree, becoming brighter and warmer as it ascends to the background. I found that I just needed a way to express the chaos as it is: wild and expressive.
