Jason McMillen has always been a daydreamer, looking out the window absorbing everything his eyes would wander past. Great views were always close by due to being raised in the small farming community of St. Paul, Oregon. The older he got, the further he would travel and observe the nature that surrounded him.
He developed his artistic abilities not only through practice but also the encouragement of this friends and family. He always knew that living up to his creative potential was his lifelong goal and he eventually decided to focus on his artwork full time at Western Oregon University. Studying at this school appealed to him because it shared some of the attributes that Jason valued in his home town with its small size and location in the countryside.
With nature being just as much a part of him as his art, Jason mainly focuses on the great and inspirational Oregonian landscape as his subject. Like many of the artists that inspire him, Jason has selected oil as his chosen painting medium and charcoal for his drawings.
He travels around his home state, with all of it's diverse scenery, still daydreaming and letting his eye wander to views that inspire him.
