This painting is based on an old photo that a photographer friend of my families took I was a toddler. There I am standing next to the wheelbarrow, which contains my little brother sitting on a pile of apples that had been collected by a tree in our yard. I always loved this picture. Even the wheelbarrow has some significance to me because not only was it used for various chores throughout my childhood, but it also never had to be replaced and slowly became something of a memento.
